October 14, 2016, Newark, N.J. — Innovators and influencers came together at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center for our second annual NJ Spotlight On Cities, a special, day-long look at how New Jersey's urban centers are mobilizing for the future. From education to transportation, economic development, healthcare and more, it was a day of ideas, insight and inspiration. We started with Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and former Gov. Thomas Kean talking about urban agendas of  the past, present and future, and ended with four gubernatorial hopefuls discussing their take on urban agendas for New Jersey.

In between, we covered a plethora of other topics, including: how new immigrants have changed our cities, environmental justice, transportation in our cities, the next step in corporate citizenship, integrated health, community schools, gentrification, affordable housing and more.

NJ Spotlight On Cities is an annual event, and plans for next year are already under way! Tell us us what you think we should include next time around.
