How are the arts driving economies in New Jersey? At NJ Spotlight On Cities this past October, we gathered the leaders of some of the largest arts organizations in the state to talk about this very question.

The panel was moderated by John Schreiber, president and CEO of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, a cultural institution that some believe helped spark the revitalization the Brick City is seeing today. Joining Schreiber was Tom Carto, president of the State Theatre in New Brunswick, a city with a successful revitalization story of its own; Chris Daggett, president and CEO of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, the biggest foundation funder of the arts in New Jersey; Nick Paleologos, executive director of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, which administers and distributes some $16 million a year to New Jersey arts organizations; and Adam Perle, president and CEO of ArtPride NJ, which advocates for funding and recognition of the arts.
